ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON BLACK SCHOLARSHIP

QBAS' mission is to advance Black academics through a focus on education, equity, wellness, and issues pertinent to the Black community. One way we do this is through our annual conference, which addresses the challenges black students face when learning and working in predominantly white environments. The conference features presentations and workshops that allow students to discuss and discover the best ways for them to overcome obstacles both inside and outside the classroom. At this event we invite esteemed alumni, professionals and keynote speakers to convey our message of unity, excellence and scholarship.

REAL TALKS

Reals Talks gives our students the opportunity to discuss hot topics and issues within the black community. From interracial relationships, black masculinity, and being a queer person of colour, real talks provides a safe space to exchange ideas and beliefs.

ACTIVISM

At QBAS, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with challenges minority students face on a regular basis. From organizing various protests like Diversity Unites and supporting other social justice groups on campus, our club has always been dedicated to fighting oppression and creating a safe(r) space for black students and students of colour at Queen's University.
